The host's philosophy

Tenuta di Spannocchia is a historic 444-hectare Tuscan farm committed to certified organic farming since 1994, preserving heritage breeds such as the Cinta Senese pig raised free-range in the forests. The estate operates on a closed cycle, producing its own olive oil, traditional preservative-free salumi and wines, while hosting international educational programmes through the NGO Friends of Spannocchia.

When to visit?

Spring (April-June) for hiking and olive tree blossoming, autumn (September-November) for the olive harvest, grape harvest and salumi production — the most active and immersive farming seasons.

Local producers involved

Integrated estate production: extra-virgin olive oil from 600 olive trees (Leccino, Pendolino, Frantoio, Moraiolo), 15 types of salumi from free-range Cinta Senese pigs (fed on acorns and chestnuts), estate wines, and vegetables from the organic kitchen garden. A partner olive mill is located nearby.
