Salema Eco Camp is the first hospitality establishment in southern Portugal committed to regenerative tourism and a candidate for Zero Waste certification. We calculate our carbon footprint annually and actively invest in decarbonisation projects. Our mission is to minimise our environmental impact while giving back to nature what it offers us, through our water treatment station, our collective composting system and our low-carbon menu.
How to get here without a car
When to visit?
Spring and autumn to enjoy the preserved natural setting with mild temperatures; summer for surfing and beach activities in the Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina.
Local producers involved
The Nazari restaurant sources local products within a 150 km radius, showcasing producers from the Algarve and Alentejo regions. The camp offers workshops on homemade kombucha, fruit ice cream and DIY pizzas, celebrating local artisan expertise.
