The host's philosophy
Casas na Areia was born from a family's desire to share the culture and traditions of Comporta with their guests. Inaugurated by architect Manuel Aires Mateus, this project blends local heritage and contemporary design in harmony with the surrounding nature. The essence of the place rests on simplicity, a connection to the wild nature and a respect for the natural elements.
How to get here without a car
When to visit?
The high season from May to September is ideal for enjoying the beaches and sunshine. Spring and autumn offer lush nature and fewer crowds, perfect for observing the wildlife of the Sado. Winter remains mild and conducive to total disconnection in a wild setting.
Local producers involved
The estate showcases local wines from the Comporta region and seafood. The buffet breakfast highlights the local flavours of the Alentejo, a region renowned for its rice paddies, olive oil and artisanal products.
