Trudy and Brendan Denize created Ripples Retreat to offer a genuine reconnection with nature in an authentic setting, on the banks of the Mangaotaki River, on their working family farm. Their philosophy is rooted in warm hospitality, immersion in the New Zealand rural landscape, and sharing their local secrets — hidden trails, fishing spots, starlit skies. They want every stay to be a memorable and heartfelt experience, far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
When to visit?
Accessible year-round; trout fishing is open from October to May, and winter nights offer a particularly clear starry sky in the Waikato.

Artisan baskets and homemade cakes available to pre-order from local makers; private yoga sessions with Renée and couples massages on the terrace with Leah, two local therapists recommended by your hosts. The village of Piopio, 15 minutes away, offers artisan shops and quality café.
