An ancient stone and wood rectory (reitoral) lovingly restored in the heart of the Ribeira Sacra, one of Galicia's most spectacular UNESCO-recognised landscapes. Owner Xurxo runs a certified organic farm with kitchen garden, farm animals and vineyard — homemade bread, wine, jams and juices served daily. Three cosy rooms with private bathroom, rustic beams and stone walls. Vegetarian and traditional Galician cuisine on request. Kayak available for the Sil river canyon. Mushroom foraging, hiking, wineries, monasteries and the dramatic canyon gorge all on the doorstep. On the left as you enter, south-facing and quite close to the church (which has a cemetery just beyond — silent neighbours, we mention it in case it might bother anyone). It is also the preferred option if you are travelling with a dog, as it is the closest to the door and separate from the others. Maximum capacity: 2 adults and 2 children.

At the back on the right, its window faces north, overlooking the green courtyard where the rooster crows ;-) and in winter it's lovely and warm as it sits above the wood-burning kitchen. The bedding features handcrafted natural wool blankets and a bedspread. It measures 15m² plus a spacious 8m² bathroom with a walk-in shower with glass screen. Perfect for couples, 150x200cm bed, with the option of adding a small 80cm extra bed. Maximum capacity: 2 adults and 1 child.
Since 2003, Xurxo has cultivated a vision of rural tourism rooted in a deep respect for the land and Galician culture. La Reitoral de Chandrexa produces its own bread, wine, jams and juices from a certified organic farm, shared generously with guests. Here, ecology is not a marketing argument but a philosophy of life embedded in every stone of this old rectoral house.
Spring and autumn to enjoy the grape harvest, mushroom picking and hiking in the gorges du Sil without the summer heat; summer remains pleasant for kayaking on the river.
The house produces its own bread, wine, jams and fruit juices from its certified organic vegetable garden and vineyard. The surroundings of Ribeira Sacra offer a rich winemaking tradition with numerous local cellars offering D.O. Ribeira Sacra wines, as well as producers of chestnuts, honey and Galician cheeses.
