In the hamlet of Lintelo, at a landmark location on the corner of two rural roads in the Achterhoek, stands De Oude Zondagschool. This monument from 1924 has been sustainably and circularly renovated into a characterful, comfortable and surprisingly spacious holiday home — with a soul, where you can feel the history. The renovation was carried out circularly using vintage materials, and the house is fully all-electric with a heat pump and energy-neutral. Superfast fibre-optic internet, interactive television via Chromecast and a fast charging station for electric cars are available. The living room is spacious with a comfortable seating area, a long wooden dining table and a luxury kitchen. Upstairs there are two bedrooms with five beds in total, plus a third small room with a sixth bed. A luxury bathroom downstairs with a large walk-in shower completes the comfort. Next to the house lies a private forest — a wonderful natural play area for children. Two bicycles are ready for your use. Dogs are welcome. Sandra and Jeroen, also the owners of Paviljoen Esch, will welcome you personally.

Sandra and Jeroen have restored this former Sunday school from 1924 using a circular and sustainable approach, repurposing vintage materials and making the building fully electric through solar panels and a heat pump. Their vision: to offer a comfortable and authentic stay in a heritage monument, in harmony with the nature of the Achterhoek, with minimal environmental impact. They welcome their guests personally and also offer Paviljoen Esch, another eco-friendly holiday home in Aalten.
All seasons: spring and summer for cycling and hiking in the Achterhoek landscape; autumn for the colours of the private forest and the tranquillity of the sandy paths; winter for the magic of the snow-covered landscape and the serenity of the countryside.
Around twenty vineyards in the Achterhoek region, including Wijngoed De Hennepe with its quality wines 'Uutbloaz'n' and 'Goodgoan'. Nearby: the Geuting distillery in Germany (local whisky and Edelkorn), the Theetuin Rensink (a tea garden just a few minutes' walk away) and many local farm producers visible throughout the surrounding agricultural landscape.
