The Biolandhaus Arche is Austria's first eco-hotel and Carinthia's first Biohotel — founded in 1985, wholeheartedly organic, vegetarian and ecological ever since. 16 solid-wood rooms made from naturally treated, formaldehyde-free wood with natural textiles and health beds — no television, no cordless phone. Purely vegetarian wholefood cuisine awarded the Grüne Haube, CO₂ footprint of 6 kg/night (standard hotels: 20–30 kg). 90 m² wellness area with bio sauna, Kneipp facilities and massages. Seminars, yoga, hiking on the Saualpe. Children's programme (feeding sheep, llama trekking, bread baking). Cabaret evenings with host Ilmar Tessmann. ZDF documentary, visited by Hugh Grant and Anna. Located in the Görtschitztal at 1,000 m — 100 km panoramic view over Carinthia.

Since 1985, Biolandhaus Arche has embodied a deep conviction: that it is possible to travel in complete harmony with nature, without compromising on well-being or pleasure. As Austria's first ecological hotel, we prove every day that ecology and warm hospitality go hand in hand. Our commitment to organic, vegetarian and sustainable living is not a trend — it has been our reason for being for four decades.
Summer for hiking on the Saualpe and outdoor activities; spring and autumn for seminars, yoga and detox retreats in a peaceful setting.
The kitchen at Biolandhaus Arche relies on certified organic producers from the Carinthia region and the Görtschitztal, with an ABG Bio certification guaranteeing the traceability of the vegetarian and organic ingredients used in cooking.
