Howard and Marion Mollison fulfilled their dream in 2017 when they settled in the historic village of Prince Albert, in the heart of the Grand Karoo. Passionate about wide open spaces, starlit skies and the wild nature of the Karoo, they share with their guests an authentic way of life that is deeply respectful of the environment. Their investment in solar energy and hybrid systems reflects a genuine commitment to a more sustainable form of hospitality.
The Karoo is pleasant all year round: spring (August–October) brings flowering vegetation and mild temperatures, while autumn and winter offer exceptionally clear starry skies and the cosy warmth of crackling fireplaces. Summers are hot and sunny, ideal for spectacular sunrises and sunsets.
The estate features a biological market garden tunnel (organic tunnel) supplying fresh local produce. Prince Albert is renowned for its artisanal producers, its olives, figs and Karoo cheeses, all accessible within 400 metres of the cottages.
